The Present is a Gift and it is happening for you.  Someone asked me today if I am always cherry, pleasant and happy.  She said that I always seem happy to see people and she couldn't even imagine if I was ever in a bad mood.  I have to say that my attitude comes from practice.

I live by the saying, "It's all how you look at it."  I encourage you to take the time to make a Gratitude List.   Each morning before getting out of bed, I think of what I am grateful for.  When you appcreciate what you have, what...

I am surrounded by friends and family 24/7 and I love and appreciate it.  I am truly blessed.  This week, however, I focused on solitude and spending time alone.  Coffee alone to think.  Working out alone, while no one was watching....it was just me and the treadmill and my weights.  Push yourself....it's worth it!

Eating alone in a restaurant has never been easy for me.  I feel as though people are watching me and wondering and thinking about my story of life and why I...

Decisions.  We make them all day!   As easy and quick or as intricate and time consuming as they may be, they are vital to our success and happiness.  As I get older, decisions in regards to my health and wellness are much more important.   The choices that I make may prevent me from forming lifestyle illnesses for my "Future Self".

So this week was impactful in many ways.   First, I set my standards for the way I want to parent our teenagers....

This week brought an emotional experience, but one that was a blessing.  18 years is a long time to live without your Mom.  Countless times over the years, I have wanted to spend time with her, talk to her, get her advise, laugh with her and see her face light up as she enjoys our children.  This past week marked 18 years that we had to say Goodbye to Myra Nelson Hahn.  I wanted to visit the cemetery where she is buried, so I decided to drive to Westby, WI and go to chu...

I don't know about you, but I struggle with RELAXING.  I always feel as though I have to be doing something productive.  This past week, however, I had an experience of relaxation and YES at times, I struggled with it, but what I realized is how important it is to slow our worlds down and Just BE!

Relaxation can have many meanings to different people and that is a wonderful thing!  At this point in my life, I can think of three experiences where I can feel totally relaxed.  #1 is being able to sle...

I think that in life you just have to "Take Action".   When a thought of something that you want to do or when you have a goal that you want to achieve, I encourage you to put the wheels into motion, take the necessary steps to make it happen and then believe that it can happen for the good.  As a new author of, "My Mom's Gone, Now What?" this song hit a very emotional chord within me and  yet I found it comforting too.  I am thankful that memories can last a lifetime and that music inspires the best in me....

I love Spring in Wisconsin!  It brings renewal.  Friends and Neighbors are busy cleaning their garages, opening the windows, applying a fresh coat of paint and cleaning out the closets!  It just feels good to declutter and compile what you don't use, so that you can donate it so that someone else might find a greater use for it.

I find that I have more peace, more energy, and a greater feeling of pride, when I am organized.  It just feels good!  This week, I cleaned closets and drawers an...

Sometimes you have to look back in order to go forward.  In our fast paced society, it is so easy to fill our days with busyness!  To start this "Journey of 52 Weeks", I decided to dust off the photo albums and spend some time reflecting on the first 50 years.  Look at life as a road map...  Where have you been?  Who has been in your life?  Look at the happy, challenging and sad times.  I have always believed that things happen for a reason.  All of our experiences end up being gifts of life.  Those gifts are...

It is amazing to me that I have lived 50 years on the earth!

For some time I have been wanting to live this year to the fullest, making it healthy, vibrant, meaningful and filled with days spent with family and friends.

I have always loved birthdays!  It is our time to celebrate life and the ability to continue forward.  What that being said, this week starts the "Challenge of 52"!

My plan is to have a new or renewed experience each week for 52 weeks.  I have selected some adventures that are simple and oth...
